The Tattoo Contest will be divided into three days.
The categories and distribution on the respective days will be as listed below.
There are two prizes in each category, first and second place, excluding the 'RISING STAR' and 'Best Cover-Up' categories for which there is only one prize.
The same tattoo may not be submitted in more than one category (except best in show).
Each artist may submit a maximum of two works per category and may only win one award per category, so in the event that the artist submits two tattoos in the same category and both score points to win a prize, only the better of the two will be awarded.
The East Coast Tattoo Convention is not linked in any way to political ideologies, and the organisers therefore disclaim any liability for such events on the part of participants and visitors.

Best tattoo executed with mixed calligraphy techniques.
(Gothic, Modern Italic, Chicano etc.)
Best tattoo made solely with black ink, both in shades (whipshading) and saturations.

Best cover-up tattoo of an old tattoo.
To compete, photographic documentation of the realisation, starting with the old tattoo, line session and saturation processes must be provided.
The good result of a cured cover-up will have an appropriate rating compared to a fresh job.
